Will the Media Forget?

Have we forgot the major political crime issues from Chicago?  Chicago governor Blagojevich was charged with conspiracy and soliciting bribes in 2009; all this was brought about when he was selling OBAMA'S senate seat.  Many of the eye witnesses were murdered before they could testify and evidence was magically disappearing.   Ya, they aren't corrupt...

Obama recently tried to bribe Rep Sestak with a federal position for dropping out of the senate race.  Obama obviously didn't think he could win, considering the last five delegates he backed LOST!  The white house is reluctant to release any information regarding the bribe, because they are trying to cover!  I have zero evidence for my last comment; however, are we really to believe this isn't going on?

Chicago is notorious for corrupt politics.  It's not a big surprise Governor Blagojevich, was recently convicted of conspiracy and soliciting bribes.  My question, WHY HASN'T OBAMA BEEN QUESTIONED OR INTERROGATED!?  Also, who is the creep mob guy on the right hand side of Blagojevich in this picture?  Is he seriously wearing a jumpsuit?  He is probably the "muscle!"

Each week Obama holds the presidential office we find new and creepy problems with his current term and past life.  How much longer are we going to deal with this?  We need to impeach Obama for the bribery charges!  He is a snake in the grass waiting to destroy America.

What Would Glenn Beck Do (WWGBD)

(I am not a writer for or in behalf of Glenn Beck or his affiliates)

When did the atheists prove their wasn't a God?  I thought the findings are inconclusive and there isn't a scientific way to prove God's existence?  I realize they deny the existence of God and want the entire world to know; moreover, they are offended by the theist standpoint.  Isn't this a waste of their time; according to atheism, there isn't anything after death and it won't matter how they spend their life. Shouldn't they be more concerned with living in the moment, and not living their short existence offended?

Everyone finds something offensive.  I'm offended with each visit to Walmart, but I wont advocate shutting it down.  My biggest problem with atheism, how is the idea of a God offensive?  He promotes love, charity, and acceptance; I would hate to have THESE characteristics (sarcasm).

Our country is set on Christianity and the idea of god.  Seventy six percent of the United States are Christian and 23.1 percent believe in a God.  How is the 0.09 percent of the Atheist/Agnostic going to convince us to change our mind?  HOW?  My advice, GROW UP!

Memorial Weekend

I sit in my favorite chair gazing into the vast countryside with few worries.  I am an American citizen and I always will be.  Memorial weekend is dedicated to those who payed the ultimate price for our freedom.  My two grandfathers served in World War 2 and lived to see a long life.  I thank them for this; I thank all those from the military.  Your sacrifice allows me the opportunity to sit in my comfy chair.

Obama is planning a visit to Chicago this weekend instead of traveling to the Arlington Cemetery for the annual wreath ceremony.  We are in the middle of two wars, and our President won't honor our veterans and current members of military.  These men and women deserve more than one day of our attention, yet this is the day we set aside.  I am not proud of our President.

However, how can I be mad at a man, who won't raise his hand to the AMERICAN FLAG.  A man who dedicated his life to a pastor spewing anti-American rhetoric.  A man who, I believe, hates everything America has done up to date.  I am not mad at President Obama; I find his actions typical and sad.  He isn't the first president to miss the wreath ceremony, and he won't be the last.  I am continually disappointed in the actions of our President.

When the Dust Settles

I am following the AZ and LA battle with a close eye.  I still don't understand the standpoint of Los Angeles.  The new Arizona law permits the police department to ask for identification when stopping a vehicle.  Wait...I thought police were suppose to do that now?  Moreover, Why aren't all police asking for documentation from citizens around the country? (whispers) They do this already.

AZ replied to LA saying, "Even if the boycotts result in lost revenue, the odds are that the money lost will be far less than the $2 billion it costs Arizona taxpayers for illegal immigration in education, health care and incarceration."  It doesn't sound like Arizona is worried, and they shouldn't be.  In April of 2009, California was officially BROKE; issuing IOU's to grants, schools, and other government run programs.  HA HA

I really shouldn't laugh at this situation, but it is amazing LA thinks they have ANY leverage over Arizona.  Lets compare the unemployment rates, Arizona is at 9.4 percent and falling, while California is setting records (figuratively speaking) with 13 PERCENT and rising!  I am willing to bet Arizona will hit 7 percent unemployment when California reaches 14 percent.  Any takers?

America favors SB 1070 (Arizona's Law) with an astounding 73 percentile; 63 percent approve of allowing the police to detain those unable to show documentation.  Is LA delusional?  Are you in favor of SB 1070?  Do think there is a better solution?  Let me know.

Oil Spill Covers More Than The Ocean

I didn't think I would be writing on the oil spill, but it seems this isn't going away. I see pictures of the spill and recognize feelings of sadness; our shores and the shores of other countries are being effected.  Moreover, I
don't usually get emotional over accidents like this; however, it is sad to see it go on this long and cover this much ocean.  Many jobs relying on the gulf are put on hold until this is cleaned.

I am very much in favor of less government and more personal rights, but this problem is doing damage to our economy and our government needs to step in and clean.  Many hands make light work.

Now on to the nitty gritty.  Do we have ourselves a Water Gate situation with Obama and BP?  BP donated more money to Obama's campaign than any other person or party in over twenty years.  Furthermore, Obama made an exemption for this specific oil rig on its annual safety inspection April 2009.  Moreover, BP conducted safety and standard checks on the rig ten days prior to the event and they are refusing to release any information on the matter.

Where is the press on THIS.  If this was the Bush administration, the press would be contributing this exemption as the trigger to this catastrophe.  The gloves would be off, and the environmentalist would seek an end to his presidency.  Where is all the pent up aggression for this oil spill?  Where are the hostile accusations against the President?  Or is this oil spill the catastrophe Obama has been waiting for?

It is a fact, the Pentagon declared 2.3 trillion USD missing on September 10, 2001.  2.3 TRILLION DOLLARS UNACCOUNTED FOR!  It is evident our country faces a national crisis right before or after we get screwed.  What can we expect this time?

The Death of Small Business

I really don't like ragging on our President. It looks bad on the public of our country to continue to complain about the decisions him and the congress are making. However, I see very little good in the ideals of our current President. President Obama is pushing through a new stimulus plan for the small businesses. Three hundred billion USD is the amount set by our congress and President to aid with entrepreneurs.

DON'T YOU GET IT OBAMA, WE DON'T WANT THE GOVERNMENT IN EVERY AREA OF OUR LIVES. Moreover, who is going to start a business with the idea of Cap and Trade and our national debt well over 13 TRILLION. I can't comprehend the idea of 13 TRILLION; I am in debt for school roughly 10 thousand, and I feel I won't see the light of day. The money you are trying to lend is not ours, it belongs to China. Americans are a "do it yourself" kind of people. All we want you to do, Mr President, is treat our current economic situation like the depression in the 1920's; cut tax in half, no stimulus of any kind, and allow the capitalist market to work its magic.

By the way Barack, if that is your real name, who is going to pay back this loan of 300 billion? It certainly won't be those people with a two year VACATION from unemployment! It won't be the those dedicated to government assistant! I don't see the "rich", incomes over 250 thousand, paying; they have lawyers and accountants paid to find loop holes! Will you tax the small businesses you are attempting to help? Will you tax the middle class, AGAIN? Or are you planning on taxing the illegal aliens, HAHA who am I kidding! WHO WILL PAY FOR THIS!?

Obama Cries if He Wants To

Remember the good old days, when getting in trouble meant we blame it on everyone else. I do, and the big stratagy for 10 year olds is to blame the kid that isn't there. Similar to the Christmas Story, when Ralphie said the "F" word in front of his father; Ralphie blamed it on the last kid he saw. Oh to be young, and pretend as if we have zero responsibility for our actions.

Obama is having his mid term election strategy after his 16 months in office. The economy is worse, jobless percentage rising, and our national debt grew 20 percent. "ITS BUSH'S FAULT, HE STARTED IT," Obama cries, when the angry "parents" (voters) demand answers. As Obama runs into his room slamming the door causing his picture of Karl Marx to fall to the ground.

Are we really going to stand for this rhetoric AGAIN. When does the buck stop, and when can we count on the executive branch of government to take care of the problems at hand, instead of constantly blaming someone else for the problem. Like my mother says, "I DON'T CARE WHO STARTED IT, YOU FINISH IT." It sounds like I need to purchase a plane ticket for my mother to go and settle Obama's tantrum. We aren't looking for a president to point fingers. We want a president, who will take care of the situation. STOP CRYING OBAMA!

What do you think?

What Would Glenn Beck Do

(I am not a writer for or in behalf of Glenn Beck or his affiliates.)
Texas is making HUGE changes to the educational programs and curriculum. The Texas state board of education is making great leaps in taking America to LESS government. Glenn Beck is suggesting everyone in the country needs to REREAD our Constitution and its teachings. We have strayed from the founding fathers messages. The people of this country are drifting, and it is in the hands of future generations that will make the biggest changes.

The Texas Textbook Industries are a big deciding factor in WHAT our country teaches our children in the education program. This new change is giving the states, who are afraid to do anything, a reason to accept positive changes. I am a Conservative, obviously, and I see these changes as very positive. This country was established on the ideas of LESS Government and More People. Why should we stray from this? Do you want MORE Government and LESS PEOPLE? MOVE! There are plenty of countries that agree to this and you can move there and be told what to do.

The Obama administration is poking their head in and telling Texas they need to reconsider the changes they made. The administration is advising the public, they should be weary of politicians making the education curriculum. Yet they are advising the Texas board of education to reconsider the changes they made? WHAT THE HELL! Am I going insane?

We need to get back to the Constitution and away from the big government. Big government is the reason we are in this repression and job problem. Ipso Facto the 1920 depression. The 1920's depression lasted TWO YEARS because they cut taxes in half and let business and entrepreneurs do their thing. LESS GOVERNMENT MORE PERSONAL RIGHTS!

Peaceful Hate

The view from my computer is quintessentially perfect. I am sitting in my favorite recliner next to the big bay windows of our log house, gazing into the lush green fields of alfalfa surrounded with bold lavish trees. I slip into a calm state of relaxation. Political news becomes increasingly frustrating, and I tend to forget the reason I am so motivated with voicing my opinion. I love this country. It is days like this I calmly neglect the hectic schedule of college.

The view is timeless from my chair, but the feeling of comfortability doesn't last long. I am addicted to the internet; I search the news constantly for interesting articles. While searching, I find an article different from those I frequent. "Police: Body found is 12-year-old Colorado girl"; my heart sinks into a tense mixture of sadness and hate. The homicide of this girl has a similar story in every city across the country. The sick sadistic creatures covering this earth are treated with too much kindness in our institutions. The young girl found in the irrigation ditch, experienced cold cruel torture before she died. The inmates with similar conviction stories, watch television and play games while laughing with fellow inmates. Is this Justice? No, this isn't justice; however it is the system we have in place. As much as I don't agree with the outcome, I'll support the process. Moreover, I find comfort in the my religious views.

I feel our capital punishment laws are in need of complete revision. I don't see a point in keeping people alive with multiple life sentences. It is problematic for the prisons and inmates facing small time; it is problematic for our tax dollars. This sounds cruel, but wasn't it an inhuman act that got them convicted? What are your thoughts on the matter?

Global Government?

I see a very unnerving message among the liberals, and I am not in favor with the idea. Global Government is not the answer the majority is looking for. When does the madness stop? I feel as if I am in a cracked out version of Alice in Wonderland, even though it is ALREADY CRAZY. Imagine the cracked out version.

Obama in a recent message to the President of Mexico, stated we are not defined by our boarders. Who is Obama representing? We are and always will be AMERICANS; we are defined by our boarders. Don't get me wrong, I am very much in agreement with working with the Mexican government in sending back all their ILLEGAL aliens. They would not accept illegal aliens from us; They will understand our message. We should have a strong alliance with the countries we boarder. However, we should NOT have OPEN boarders.

Do you believe we should have a one world government? I don't! This idea chills me to the core. Can you imagine an ever reaching government arm? I realize many of you think I am pulling this Global Government idea out of thin air, but look through the American news and count the times they consider all the problems, ideas, and currency as GLOBAL problems, ideas, and currency. This is subconscious RAPE; when did we leave the AMERICAN problems, ideas and currency? Don't believe me; Google "global obama".

AZ Threatens LA with Candles

I am thoroughly enjoying the Arizona battle with Los Angeles. LA in its infinite wisdom, threatened to boycott Arizona in official travel and business. They decided the new laws set forth by Arizona on illegal immigration, are unfriendly (pouting lips) and anti American (small tear). Arizona is doing the job our Government should be doing! Our Government is continually proving to us that THEY cannot handle the jobs they have. Why are they telling us they need MORE responsibility?

Arizona doesn't want Los Angeles to seem as though they aren't living up to their promise to boycott Arizona, so they reminded them they are responsible for a quarter of all electricity supply to Los Angeles. Arizona is simply reminding them of a simple service they will no longer provide if LA follows through with the boycott. It seems as though LA will be the new hot spot for candle lite dinners, walks, robberies, murders, and surgeries.

I am LOVING this response from Arizona. It wouldn't be fair for a group of people on a hunger strike to bring provisions to get them through the many days of skipping meals. It is only fair for Arizona to cut all ties with this city that obviously doesn't want anything to do with them. I am like a child sitting at the end of the porch eagerly waiting for the faint sounds of the ice-cream truck; I am eagerly waiting for the sounds of LA's response.

November is Looking Good

The people of this country are waking up to the ugly side of America. It is about time. The agendas of our legislative branch are much different than those of the people, and with Tuesdays primaries, the people are telling our representatives we won't stand for it.

What a wonderful day and wonderful news for our country. Obama is 0/4 with delegates he personally backs for office. I would like to see him personally back all of the candidates that are left in office. Regardless of their political opinions. He is soundly defeating himself, and I think it is a good sign to see Americans ignoring the President's opinion. He is obviously ignoring everything we are saying and suggesting, so why should we listen to anything he says. Like Glenn Beck says, "Don't listen to Obama's words; Watch his actions."

So far we are seeing new representatives in Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Arkansas, Massachusetts, West Virginia, and Utah. This is a very good sign. We need new blood in the legislative branches and I think we are on the right path. (It is possible I missed some states, so comment below if you know of any more)

Che Guevara

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am getting really sick of seeing this socialist piece of **** on American clothing. He was a horrible person and did not support anything the American people stand for.

Che Guevara was a murdering Stalinist, with an ego the size of Texas. Che is hailed as a visionary in the eyes of Rock-stars, Movie-stars, and people around the world. They see him as a freedom fighter, fighting for the lives of his country and unfortunate victims around the world. He is highly respected in the gay community, and progressives around the country quote his words. What would Che have said to his American followers?

Guevara is personally responsible for 180 documented cases of murder, documented with multiple eye witnesses. How many total cases this mass-murder is accountable for, remains in question; humanitarian? (Please note, this list does not include victims of war) The victims were put to death, because they didn't agree with the political Stalinist view of Che Guevara. Che saw his revolution so necessary, it meant overseeing the murder of 20 million of his own people. Who was this "freedom fighter" fighting for?

To the followers of Che Guevara. Che was an extreme supporter of Cuba's 1960's censorship ideals. The Castrist regime forced Stalinist opinions to the televisions and radios, and forced most musicians out of the country. Che openly bashed, jailed, and murdered homosexuals. Moreover, he said this, "I have no house, wife, children, parents, or brothers; my friends are friends as long as they think like me, politically." He would not agree with any of you; He would fight to silence you.

Pass this message to those around you who support this Stalinist mass-murder blindly. He is not a person worthy of our praise. Moreover, Che Guevara isn't worthy to be pictured on our toiletries. He stood for death and repression and spoke words of hate. Americans stand for freedom and liberty, and we are blessed with freedom of speech.

No Child Left Behind Left Teachers Behind

Rhode Island fired 90 teachers involved with the schools having the states lowest test scores. The is a perfect example of the damage No Child Left Behind has on our education systems. Educators are molding the curriculum around the tests and the students are suffering. Our society is so worried about offending children, they form a horrific idea like No Child Left Behind.

Obviously their is the exception to the rule. Teachers will be ineffective and we need to release those ineffective educators. However, our teachers are not the problem in our education program. Lowering the expectations of our education system to allow all children to pass is the problem. Children need to learn now, that life is not fair and they will not win at everything. Leave the children behind that don't meet the standard. If they are not grasping the concept, allow them the opportunity to try again.

This program is showing our children, they have to accomplish everything on the first pass. If they don't, the rules will be bent and exceptions will be made. Society is handing out trophies to all children instead of those who deserve the recognition. This program is raping America of our ambition and competitive edge.

I don't have children, so let me know what you think. Am I right? Am I way off the mark?

HELLO MEXICO IMMIGRATION LAWS!!!

I want to let everyone know the current immigration laws that we would be entitled to if WE were to immigrate to THEIR country (speaking mainly to illegal Mexicans).

1. If you migrate to this county, you must speak the native language

2. You have to be a professional or an investor. No unskilled workers
allowed.

3. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no
special ballots for elections, all government business will be
conducted
in our language.

4. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they
are here.

5 Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no
food
stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs.

7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount
equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

8. If foreigners do come and want to buy land that will be okay, BUT
options will be restricted. You are not allowed waterfront property.
That is reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

9. Foreigners may not protest; no demonstrations, no waving a foreign
flag, no political organizing, no badmouthing our president or his
policies, if you do you will be sent home.

10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be hunted down
and sent straight to jail.

I really enjoyed reading this about Mexico and their immigration laws. America is the greatest country in the world. Our government is way too lenient on the illegal aliens. Compared to many of the other country's in the would, we have some the best policies for our immigrants. The illegal aliens are getting too comfortable in their stolen beds; lets instigate YOUR immigration laws! Do you still think Arizona is asking too much?

If interested her is Canada's

I Agree with CBS?

I don't think CBS is completely liberal, but they are more on the left of the medial dial than I care to see. I realize I cannot ask for our current news stations to stay neutral, but as long as they are going to take sides; I am going to limit the amount of news I intake from them.

CBS conducted a survey on Nancy Pelosi's rating with viewers. I wasn't shocked to see their viewers were at a 52 percent uninformed rate (undecided), but I was shocked to see the informed viewers had Nancy Pelosi rated, with the remaining 48 percent, 37 percent unfavored. I was very much excited to see these results. This woman has lost touch with the will and wants of American voters. Nobody, that pays attention, likes you Pelosi! Her last blunder had my blood pressure through the roof, and I am 26 years old.

Nanci Pelosi told Christian leaders, "Preaching amnesty in our church is a manifestation of us living the gospel." Is the devil allowed to advise Christian leaders on their sermons? HOW DARE YOU INVOLVE RELIGION IN OUR STATE AFFAIRS! I swear there is a rule against this somewhere (sarcastically toned). I get it Pelosi, 14.2 million Hispanic Americans are Christian, and you need their voice. Amnesty is not the answer the American people want; 67 percent of Americans want better boarder control, and 45 percent of LIBERALS disagree with amnesty. Wait... 45 percent of Liberals disagree...with amnesty? This is AMAZING! This is a perfect example of our congress attending to their own agenda.

Regardless if you are for or against amnesty, the American people do not want amnesty. We do not want our laws tossed aside because you (Federal Gov) won't do your job. Our government is in shambles; our government doesn't think the American people will take this power away. We need to prove them wrong. America, we need to clean house (literally). What do you think?

What Would Glenn Beck Do (WWGBD)

I am inspired by Glenn Beck to start blogging about politics. He is a revolutionary for our time and I believe he will help us get back on the right track. Each generation has a leader; we have many, but Glenn Beck is a leader I will follow. Now, I am not saying I will jump off a bridge after a hypothetical Glenn Beck report on bridge jumping, but I will accept his ideas and suggestions on government reform. I try to watch his show and listen to his program; however, I am a college student with little time on my hands.

I plan writing a WWGBD (What Would Glen Beck Do) story each week. I am not a writer for or on behalf of Glenn Beck or his affiliates. I am merly a supporter. My WWGBD posts are simply a guess on the position Glenn Beck would take. I think it will be fun and I am a psychology major, so this is right up my ally in predicting human behavior.

This first post is an announcement to my plans, and I will be starting my WWGBD posts next week. So get ready for some interesting and opinionated posts, and please get in the habit of commenting; I really enjoy feedback and opposing arguments.

Immigration, a Humble Perspective

First things first, I am not stating I have the answer to our illegal immigration problem. My upbringing was simple and surrounded with fellow Americans in a small community. However, I spent many years traveling the United States and I feel I have a decent understanding about the problem at hand.

Immigrants are very necessary to our nation. The current residents of America are producing fewer children than people are dieing and immigration fills this gap, along with many others. Our nation, like many others, was created through immigration and it helped us become the nation we are today. Moreover, my relatives immigrated here from Scotland.

However, I don't consider illegal aliens immigrants to this country. Illegal aliens are suggesting, in my opinion, our rules do not apply to them; our rules can be broken when a person considers the current laws immoral or unfair. Entering a country illegally is a crime, regardless of your personal beliefs, morals, and ideals. Our society established a standard and this standard must be upheld by all people found within our lands and jurisdiction.

There are many argumentative opinions held by illegal aliens and I don't have the space or time to discuss them in this blog. The argument I am going to cover is, "The pursuit of freedom and happiness is not a crime; murder is a crime." I see this argument all over the web, and I have many problems with this comparative fallacy. First, a criminal is involving or being or having the nature of a crime; "a criminal offense"; "criminal abuse"; "felonious intent." Illegal aliens are criminals. Second, people residing out of this country, in general, are aware we have laws prohibiting unauthorized entry in our country. They know this because the country they are coming from, will have similar laws. Hence the PASSPORTS we are required to carry ON OUR PERSON! Illegal aliens conduct an opportunity cost analysis before entering our country whether it is physically or mentally, and they are choosing to risk fines and imprisonment. Why are we the bad guys for upholding our current laws. We did not break the law; we are enforcing it. Will the illegal aliens want the law to work for them when someone breaks into THEIR HOUSE? Finally, thousands of immigrants are entering this country LEGALLY each year, and it is greatly appreciated. Yes the process is long, expensive, and frustrating, but this country is worth it. Moreover, it is the system we created and it must be followed. Illegal entry is a slap in the face to those entering legally.

Our country is far from perfect but I consider it to be the greatest country on earth. We each pay a price to live in a free country. Some pay more than others, but a price must be paid. There is no such thing as a free lunch! Someone ends up with the bill, and in this case our honest tax payers are the provider.

LA to boycott AZ

LA OKs Arizona Boycott over tough immigration law

I didn't realize California had the means available to boycott 53 million in contracts and business. This whole time I am considering California to be a suffering state in need of Big Brothers help. OK, stop all generosity towards California, they are doing great and are waving their hand to the measly 53 million generated through business between LA and AZ.

Is this really happening? Our states are at financial war with each other. One of the poorest states in our country is boycotting Arizona financially, because the state is asking the legal immigrants to carry proper identification? I am missing something here. As far as I can tell, I haven't read anything on Arizona in financial struggle. In fact, I am sure some of their prisons are CREATING income! Where else is this the case, besides Texas.

Moreover, We are currently at a 10 percent unemployment rate and the state of California is around 12.6 unemployment as of march. This is a great move by California, specifically LA. All of my money is on California falling off the edge of the earth, from their problematic tectonic fault, before Arizona caves to these horrific bullying tactics. Furthermore, Arizona has 49 other states actively seeking new areas for business and business relations. HELLO OPPORTUNITY KNOCKING!

What are your thoughts? I would love some input!

Is the President Listening?

Please listen to New Yorkers, Mr. President

I don't see any actions from our president that suggest he is listening at all. This opinion post from the the Buffalo News, is suggesting he listens to us at all. Don't get me wrong, I agree with the man when he is suggesting the president needs to listen to the people. However, President Obama is to listening as Congress is to making decisions; it happens every once in awhile and it usually isn't what the people want.

The article goes on to say, our President needs to confront China about their intentional manipulation of currency. Which is keeping it below the US and intentionally bringing them more money. Shouldn't we worry about our OWN spending and manipulation of currency? It would be nice to control the world and how they conduct business; however, we are having major troubles fixing our own problems.

It is a great article and it has some fun points, but I see the problem in our country. The Free Market will work if we give it a chance; moreover, we need to lower laws on the businesses and allow them to create the jobs. What do you think about this? I know we have problems everywhere but we should fix the ones closest to home first.

Climate Change Bills

New Climate Changing bill was proposed by Sens. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., and John Kerry, D-Mass.

I am getting very tired of the insane climate bills being proposed. When are we going to take a stand to our government? I do not agree with paying a tax to the government on any type of over use or poor regulation of anything. Our government cannot handle the money they are being given currently, yet they proceed to assume they have everything under control.

The bill is suggesting 7,500 companies will be required to meet emission targets. They claim their aim is to reduce carbon emissions, but I don't see this as the case. When these companies are unable to meet emission targets, the US government will tax them and this tax will be forced on us. Moreover, who will be running this project? The EPA? The government needs to get a handle on the current programs they have running before starting new ones.

What about the EPA? This branch of the government has zero accountability and reports to NO ONE. How is this possible in our current checks and balances system? WE implemented checks and balances to stop this kind of problem from happening, yet the government deems it worth to be free from this system? When are the unchecked shenanigans going to be accounted for? What do you think of this Problem?

This I believe

I sluggishly awoke to the sound of the hotel phone; it was the morning wake-up call I arranged when I checked in. My senses were dull from a long night of drinking and little sleep, but I managed to find the light and dress myself. Luckily, my work uniform was a one piece fire-retardant jumpsuit with a zipper from the knees to neck. I could see my boots against the wall but the boots seemed to be moving back and forth; I finally found my balance with the nearby dresser. As I leaned in strain, with what seemed like all the energy I could muster, to lace up and tie my boots, my mind drifted through different reactions my boss would have if I didn’t show up to the oil refinery for work. I envisioned every scenario ending with him allowing me to sleep in. But by the time I quit daydreaming of skipping work, I was in the middle of our daily safety meeting. “DAMN,” I mumbled to this harsh realization.
I look back on this day many times in my life, and I wish I wouldn’t have drunk so much the night before. Booze was my closest friend. I couldn’t tell it no, regardless of my current 12 hour shifts 7 days a week. I know my life would be much different and I might have a different outlook on life, had I kept drinking to a minimal instead of drinking to pass-out. “Why should I stop drinking?” I argued to myself, “I work in one of the most dangerous job in the oil industry. I make 60,000 a year in my early twenties, and I travel to a new city every couple weeks. Every co-worker I have drinks to oblivion, and they wouldn’t let me stay in and miss out on all the good times.”
My job as an inert vessel entry technician kept me extremely busy. I would travel to different oil refineries in the country and replace the catalyst in the crude-oil catalytic reactors. My main job was to climb down the reactor in full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to clean, vacuum, and load catalyst. For those of you who are new to the oil refinery process, catalyst is a chemically designed product used in extremely high heat, roughly 18,000 ferinheight, for chemical separation of crude-oil. The expired catalyst is usually pyrophoric (spontaneously combusts in oxygen) and covered in toxic chemicals like benzene, hydrogen sulfide (kills people instantly), and arsenic. My PPE consisted of fire retardant coveralls, class C chemical suit, steel toe boots, gloves, full body harness, and a locked-on life support helmet. Needless to say, I wore 60 pounds of protective gear and it was very necessary.
“DANIEL”, my boss shouted. “Check your gear and suit up, you’re going in.” It was a long climb to the top of the 180ft reactor by ladder and it can seem as if it never ends. Luckily, I was still drunk from the night before and I was emerged in playful scenarios of nights prior. This job, of climbing down IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health) atmospheres is incredibly dangerous and unnerving, but I had done it hundreds of times before and have always come up alive and in one piece.
“SHHHHHHHHHH,” I could hear the oxygen flow from my air supply line before I closed the face of my helmet. Then silence hit, and my breathing is the only sound I hear. The helmet produces a sound very similar to that of Darth Vader in star wars. Slow breaths in and out, in and out were soon interrupted by my heart bumping my chest like a soft sledge hammer. It was slowly getting darker and darker as I climbed down a pitch black hole filled with deadly gases and chemicals. “Check Check, Daniel can you hear me?” The communication line was finally connected and it won’t be long before I have light. “Check Check” I replied, “I hear you just fine.” The lighting system we used inside the reactors are all temporary light similar to flash lights and drop lights. These lights are dropped in after I make entry to the second level of the reactor, so the first 10 feet are very slow and dark. The entry point of the second level is a small 15X18inch section not designed for a human with 60 pounds of gear. The Helmet alone is 14 Inches from ear to ear and 16in front to back. It will be a tight fit going in and almost impossible fit getting out. I slowly made my way down the 6ft sections of ladder, and through the small opening. I was extremely careful to watching my gear and to make sure my air lines didn’t get tangled or caught. I managed to get my body and gear through without trouble, and it was time for the tedious task of getting my helmet through without breaking my air lines. The helmet was too long to go through straight. So I was forced to turn my head sideways facing my shoulder, and expose my air lines, on the side, to damage.
I made it through without troubles and worked the full day inside the reactor. I know most of world isn’t familiar with breathing through straws for eight hours, but that is what it feels like to breath in a locked-on helmet all day. I was weak from manual labor and lack of oxygen, not to mention the long night of alcohol abuse, but I got the job done and I skipped lunch to finish early. It was a 160ft climb to the opening and then I would be free. The climb to the top seemed to never end, each six foot section of our constantly swaying ladder added fatigue and pain to my already weary strength. The ladders we use are attached to the top man-whole, and pieced together with locking pins every six feet. This style of entry system, allowed us to make entry into any vessel, but created an unstable climb.
Finally, I reached the first entry point inside the vessel. My breathing is much more intense now and the air allowance feels much more restricting. Each breath feels like an upcoming asthma attack, like I will never have another deep breath again. My heart is pounding rapidly; it consumes my attention and feels as though I am receiving chest compressions in CPR. My arms and legs are rubber from hours of labor and my recent climb. The extremely small man-way (entry point) requires all my attention, if I rush through or experience any claustrophobic ideals I will break my only life preserving equipment and die immediately. I begin to navigate my helmet and airline through the small 15x18 man-way; remember my helmet is 14 inches sideways and allows ½in of clearance on each side. My vision is restricted in the helmet to a small partially foggy face shield, similar to that of a motorcycle helmet. I feel calmed and relieved when my helmet clears; I didn’t break my equipment and I can start forcing my body through.
I get a good stance on the suspended ladder and prepare to push my body through the opening. My shoulders are bigger than the opening; my only option is to reach my arms through the opening like a young boy awaiting his shirt from mom. “SNAP” the ladder below brakes; I am suspended in air with my helmet and arms through the opening. My helmet wedges in the opening and is supporting my body and equipment weight. I frantically reach for something, anything to grab, but my arms are wedged towards the sky with nothing around. I call for help with my microphone; it’s been disconnected. I can feel the pressure of my weight pulling my chin from its once secure position. My sweat is acting like a lubricant, allowing my chin to slide slowly through the locked pressure. I am helpless. Below, is a pitch black atmosphere that will kill me the minute I take my first breath out of my helmet. The more I move and struggle the more my chin slides. I stop. I remain motionless for a 20 second eternity. I flex my jaw with all the energy and strength I can muster to help me keep my position in the helmet. To no avail I continue to slide; I don’t have the energy or strength in my jaw to support 260 pounds. My mind is racing as I slide closer and closer to a certain death. Suddenly, my mind becomes blank and I feel fear throughout my entire body. My chin slips completely out of the helmet, but I didn’t fall. My co-worker locked my fall prevention cable and was manually cranking the cable. The slip I felt from my helmet, was enough to tighten the cable. I wasn’t going to die. My chin and mouth were exposed to the atmosphere, but I was breathing the supplied oxygen through my nose. My arms found something to hang on to, it was my helmet; I held my helmet down to my head with every ounce of strength I had. I was being cranked out of the reactor like a fish from the well of a small village.
My top safety was preparing the top deck for my exit when all of this was happening. I don’t believe in luck. I believe in divine help. The top safety’s job is very simple, watch the technician in the reactor (Me) and do not sleep. He had been sleeping the entire time I was in the vessel, and neglected to watch my exit. I asked him when I reached the top safely, and many other times after, what it was that prompted him to check on me? His only reply, I knew I needed to check on you. He isn’t a spiritual person; on the contrary he spent the previous fifteen years in a prison for murder and felt god had abandoned him.
I believe in the power and divine help of angels. I know my Father in Heaven is watching me. I wasn’t involved with religion at the time; moreover, I was very much against it and its teachings. He sent his angels to protect me from falling and to push this ex-con to my aid. My weight alone should have pulled me immediately from my sweaty helmet, but it didn’t. I don’t believe this event was a coincidence or a lucky time in my life. I know this was divine help from our Lords servants, even angels. This I believe…
